SBI has remitted the most unclaimed deposits of Rs 8086 crore to the Reserve Bank of India, followed by PNB at Rs 5,340 crore and Canara Bank at Rs 4,558 crore.

On 3rd April 2023,  Dr. Bhagwad Karad, Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance, provided this information in a written response to a question in the Lok Sabha. The declaration emphasizes the substantial amount of unclaimed cash kept by PSBs, emphasizing the significance of reuniting these funds with their rightful owners through correct procedures and public awareness efforts.

How to Check SBI Bank Unclaimed Deposits List 2023

SBI has set a procedure to claim SBI Bank Unclaimed Deposits by following these helpful steps-:

  1. First, go to the State Bank of India’s official website at https://sbi.co.in navigate to the customer service section, and then go to the inoperative accounts link.
  2. Now you can check the name of the account holder and address in the list of SBI Unclaimed Deposits. Fill up the information, like your name, address, and text verification captcha, and click on the submit button.
  3. Now visit the SBI branch where you have an account and sign the “Claim Form” after filling out all essential fields. You must take your passbook, deposit receipts, recent pictures, valid identification, and any applicable original documentation with you.
  4. After due diligence and KYC compliance, the SBI Branch will promptly process the application for payment of unclaimed deposit and pay the amount.

Follow the below mentioned steps to check SBI unclaimed deposits list at RBI UDGAM portal.

Step 1: Visit the Reserve Bank of India UDGAM official portal https://udgam.rbi.org.in/.

Step 2: In the homepage of UDGAM Portal, you have to first register on the portal



Step 3: Enter your mobile number, first name & last name. Create a password, enter a captcha, and click on the next button. You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP and click on the register button.

Step 4 : Now you can log in to the UDGAM portal by simply entering your mobile number and password



Step 5: Now You can search the SBI unclaimed deposits list by entering the account holder’s name and selecting the State Bank of India as the bank, or by directly entering the PAN card number, voter ID, driving number, passport number, and date of birth.
